The Institute for the Public Services (IPS) has shifted to issuing its training certificates in digital form using blockchain technology in April 2021.  This shift towards digital training certificates, using Blockcerts, was a success.

IPS would like to notify all participants of its training courses, that as from 2025, all digital certificates issued by IPS will include the Identity Card Number of the participant.  The Identity Card number, the main form of identification used in Malta, will ensure that the digital certificate is directly linked to the person in whose name the certificate is issued.

To date, more than 36,416 digital certificates have been issued to those who have completed Training Programmes and stand-alone courses with the Institute. In 2024 alone, more than 7127 digital training certificates have been issued by the Institute.
