Blockcerts at ips

The Institute for the Public Services (IPS) issues ALL programme/course certificates in digital form on the blockchain. The blockchain certificate is available and easily accessible via the Blockcerts Wallet App which can be easily downloaded on a mobile or on a tablet.  The certificates can also be downloaded as a pdf document, but the Blockcerts Wallet App gives you the facility to have all your certificates in one place.

Kindly be informed, that the Digital Certificate includes your ID card number together with other information related to the training attended.   This ensures that the digital certificate is directly linked to the person in whose name the certificate is issued.

Backup of Email

Once you successfully complete a Programme or Course with IPS, you will receive an email from “IPS Certification” to download the certificate in pdf format on your desktop/laptop and the credential on the Blockcerts Wallet App.

When you receive the e-mail from “IPS Certification” with the credential attached, it is of utmost importance that this e-mail is stored from your end by for example forwarding it to your personal e-mail account, to have a backup of your credentials for future use.

Saving the Certificate as a PDF

To save the certificate as a pdf first save the attached .json file in the email received from “IPS Certification” on your laptop/desktop, then click on https://ips-certification.gov.mt and choose the file that you have saved and upload it on this link.  The credential will first be verified.  Then proceed to download it in PDF format.  You may also print the certificate if required.

Blockcerts Wallet App

If you do not already have the Blockcerts Wallet App on your device you can look for it on Google Play Store or App Store. The installation of the Blockcerts Wallet App is now optional, but it is highly recommended so that all credentials received from IPS are saved in the Blockcerts Wallet App.

To add the certificate to your wallet, click on Import My Credential from the smart phone/tablet where the Blockcerts Wallet App is installed. You can then open the e-mail received from “IPS Certification” on your laptop or desktop and continue to save the .json file received as per instructions in the e-mail.

Important Note

Please note that the certificate is made up of TWO pages. Thus, it is important that when the certificate is presented to third parties, both pages are to be presented.
