The Public Service Welcomes Students at Freshers’ Week 2026

Date05.10.2026

Freshers’ Week 2026 is here, and the Public Service is ready to meet students at the University of Malta (UoM) and MCAST Poala!

From 5th to 9th October, the Public Service will be at the University of Malta and at MCAST Paola from 5th to 7th October. This year, the Public Service is expanding its presence and offering even more ways for students to discover opportunities, get useful information and connect with Public Service representatives.

The Institute for the Public Services (IPS) will be at the stand throughout Freshers’ Week, giving students the chance to find out more about the opportunities available to them. Students can learn more about the IPS Under/Post-Graduate Scheme and the ICT Scheme, both of which are currently open for applications until 9th October. IPS representatives will be on hand to answer any questions and guide students accordingly.

There will also be plenty happening at the Public Service stand. Students can take part in a range of fun and interactive activities, including:

• Polaroid Competition – Take a Polaroid photo at the Public Service stand, share a selfie featuring your photo on social media and tag the Public Service’s social media channels for a chance to win a Polaroid camera.

• Fortune Teller – Get your fortune card and see what message might be waiting for you!

• Choose Your Calories – Test your knowledge with the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Unit’s interactive Choose Your Calories game and try some protein balls.

• Energy-Saving Bicycle – Hop on the bike, generate the energy, and blend your way to your very own smoothie.

• Potting Activity – Get hands-on with AmbjentMalta and take part in a fun potting activity.

Whether you would like to explore career opportunities, get advice about IPS Student Schemes or simply take part in our activities, make sure to visit the Public Service stand during Freshers’ Week.

Drop by, ask questions, get involved and discover what the Public Service has to offer.

We hope to see you there!
