Career guidance is also provided to students participating in various IPS schemes, including apprenticeships, IPS students, and traineeships and also to sponsored public officers studying at UoM or MCAST for a qualification ranging between MQF level 5 upwards. This support assists students with academic queries, the organisation of career planning, and the provision of additional quality support throughout their studies.

Overview of Career Guidance within Malta Public Service
Career Guidance is a personalised service offering support to the employees of the Malta Public Service through a collaboration between the Institute for the Public Services (IPS), People360, the Employee Support Programme (ESP) Resource Unit, and the Industrial Relations Unit (IRU), all under the People and Standards Division within the Office of the Prime Minister of Malta. This tailor-made service is designed to address the public officer’s career needs, professional pathways, current employment position, and future professional goals. Support includes career planning, skills assessment, identifying skill gaps, matching skills to opportunities, training needs analysis, exploring career progression and considering alternative career paths.

Talent Attraction and Community Outreach
Career Guidance is also provided during Freshers and Expos at MCAST and UOM, as well as other career-related activities in secondary schools across Malta and Gozo. This assistance helps to reduce skill mismatch, boost productivity, encourage innovation, retain local talent, and bridge the gap between education and employment in the Malta Public Service.
