Prospectus after prospectus we have still managed to come up with a catalogue of courses with innovative ideas for you this year and some great new courses to stimulate your professional development.

In keeping in step with the emerging demands and needs that all our colleagues out there are experiencing due to their ever-changing work environment, this year we will be even more focused on individual needs.  We have tried to align essential competencies with set programmes, as well as electives relevant to specific job responsibilities, in an attempt to make staff development efforts more synergised. 

Our training remains ongoing. We still provide those training courses that many of you have come to expect and apply for. Apart from adding fresh training programmes, this year's prospectus is also divided into sections which, you may notice, are different from those we have had at IPS up to now. Broadly speaking these sections are directly related to the different grades which should facilitate identifying personal training. 

Apart from our usual online and classroom-based training, IPS, for the first time, is offering e-learning via the Coursera online platform.  These courses are offered by different institutions across the world, delivered by professionals and academics, and offered on one single platform.  We are sure that they will add an important dimension to your learning experience, not only because of the level, but also because learning can now be fitted around busy work schedules and done in one's own time. 

Also, departing from the last few years, courses will be open for applications throughout the year. Courses will be advertised from time to time through flyers which you will receive directly by email in your mailbox, with links to a personal development page on the IPS Website showing which courses could be applied for at that point in time which can be accessed from here.  Advertising training throughout the year should prompt line managers and employees to remember to learn new skills and brush up on others throughout the year.    

Finally, the Prospectus which can be accessed from here, as well as the prospectus website indicate clearly which training is earmarked for which grade, to help you choose the training programmes that are more relevant to your needs.
